Conceptualised as a space that caters to a variety of users—from leisure seekers to serious athletes—the Confluence Club was developed to be a well-equipped facility. Located approximately 20 kilometres southwest of the city centre, the club can be easily accessed via two major roads. The 2-acre site is nestled amidst 50 acres of the Malhar Eco Village, an ongoing housing community development. As such, the club was designed to be an extension of it, with the purpose of bringing the people together around the idea of healthy living.

The planning and landscaping took into account the natural terrain, orientation and microclimate, integrating water management and sewage treatment system into the master plan. Water is collected from the roofs through a network of pipes, and is then filtered to the main water tank. With Bangalore having intermittent rains, this reduces the load on the bore wells considerably. The excess roof water and ground water percolates into the soil through a series of channels and pits—the lower percentage of impermeable surfaces on the club’s grounds also aids this.
