Within this residential project located in the area of BSD, Tangsel, the architect is

trying to raise the issue of food security by implementing the concept of urban

farming on a family scale. Green open space is allocated around the building that

functions as a water catchment area, and a place for growing crops that can be

harvested directly by the owner. In addition, not attaching the building with

neighboring units will allow air and wind flows through the building, which is also

designed with voids, a wide opening and separation of two building masses.

Gardening areas for the owner not only lie on ground level, but are also allocated

across the rooftop area in the rear building mass and in some spots that are

arranged vertically either by using verticulture system or vertical garden.

There is a ramp from ground floor that links directly to rooftop garden area for

guests or friends who want to visit the owner’s garden.
